واعتبر كوبيتش في تغريدة أخرى أن “نجاح الإجراءات لإنقاذ لبنان من الانهيار يبدأ بدعم القوى السياسية الممثلة في البرلمان. هناك ستظهر مصالحها الحقيقية، وليس في المظاهرات الشعبوية أمام المصارف”.
وأضاف قائلا: “لقد قام حاكم مصرف لبنان رياض سلامة بالتبليغ أن مصرف لبنان يقدم الآن رسميًا للحكومة معلومات واقعية حول الوضع في لبنان، بما في ذلك السيولة”، معتبراً ان “الشفافية الكاملة للجمهور ضرورية أيضا لشرح أسباب التدابير المتوقعة، بعد زيارة صندوق النقد الدولي”.
واشار كوبيتش إلى أنه “غالبًا ما يكون تخويف الصحفيين واضطهادهم بسبب تعبيرهم عن آرائهم علامة على أنهم يتطرقون إلى أنه يتطرقون الى أمر مهم. لن تنجح أبدًا الجهود المبذولة لإسكات حرية التعبير من خلال التدابير الإدارية والمضايقات، وعادة ما تأتي بنتائج عكسية، لا سيما في وقت الأزمات”.
I urge IMF to provide advice and assistance to the government when it prepares a series of tough measures and reforms needed to start moving Lebanon from the existential crisis to a sustainable development, but in a socially responsible way.

BDL Governor Salameh informed that BDL now officially provides the Government factual information on the situation of Lebanon, incl. liquidity. Full Transparency, also to the public is necessary for explaining the reasons for anticipated measures, following the IMF visit.
